New Delhi, 27 August 2014: The Senior Women core probables continue their preparatory camp, ahead of the 17th Asian Games to be held at Incheon, South Korea from 19th September 2014.

Speaking on the preparations, Indian Women Hockey team’s mid-fielder Ritu Rani said, “Going by the present form of the team and the recent performances, we are looking forward to a good show in the pool matches. We are aiming for a victorious start in the tournament against Malaysia and Thailand. Our clash against China will be the one to watch and we are working hard towards penalty corners, ball possessions and field tactics so that we can successfully overcome the opponents in the Asian Games.”

Commenting on the preparations, Chief Coach Neil Hawgood said, “The women team is practicing hard and I am sure of respectable results in the Asian Games. The team has been working on the faulty areas as well as refining the individual’s and team’s strengths so that the girls are able to tackle every field situation in the upcoming matches of the Asian Games. The team is fully fit for the games and also learning to create on-field chances for themselves against the opponents.”

The 17th Asian Games will commence on 19th September 2014 and the Indian Women’s Hockey team is placed in Pool A with China, Malaysia and Thailand.
