Uttar Pradesh & Chandigarh enters semi-finals of 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (North Zone)

New Delhi, 13 April 2013: Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh enters the semi-finals from Pool-B on the day-4 of the 3^rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (North Zone) played at Sonepat, Haryana on Saturday.

Uttar Pradesh defeated Himachal Pradesh 6-0 in the first match played today. Uttar Pradesh who led 4-0 at the half time scored through Mohini Nishad (2^ndand 22^nd min), Sonal Tiwari (7^th min) and Nilamjati (12^th min). In the second half of the game Uttar Pradesh scored another two goals through Ananaya Verma in the 46^th and Khushboo Kumari in the 59^th minute.

In another game of the Pool-B, Punjab beat Chandigarh 5-1.

Haryana will now face Uttar Pradesh in the first semi-final while Chandigarh will take on Delhi in the second semi-final to be played on Sunday, 14 April 2013.

3^rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone)

Chandigarh & Uttar Pradesh from Pool A and Hosts Haryana & Delhi from Pool B enters semi-finals of 3^rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone) played at Sonepat, Haryana on Saturday.

Hosts Haryana registered easy victory 13-0 over Jammu & Kashmir while Punjab beat Himachal Pradesh 3-0 in Pool B.

In Pool A Chandigarh defeated Uttarakhand 5-3.

Hosts Haryana will take on Chandigarh in the first semi-final while Punjab will face Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Pool A- Chandigarh 5 (Manjinder Singh 11, Hartaj Singh Aujla 18, Harkirat Singh 21, Harmeet Singh 45 and Milanpreet Singh 47) beat Uttarakhand 3(Vikas Joshi 16, Raj Kumar 32 and Rahul Kumar 38)

Pool B- Punjab 3 (Kawaljit Singh 2, Ajmer Singh 26 and Dharminder Singh 69) beat Himachal Pradesh 0.

Haryana 13 (Amit 6, 50, 70, Viney 12, 20, 52, 56, Amit 22, Kuldeep 24, 33, Akshay Antil 29, 58 and Mohit 45) beat Jammu & Kashmir 0.
