Ranchi Rhinos, the team franchise of Hero Hockey India League is putting in its best efforts to find fresh talent in the villages of Jharkhand.

In the recently conducted under-14 Ranchi Rhinos Hockey League, Khunti Tigers defeated Khunti Kings 1-0 to claim the title. The tournament was organized by Ranchi Rhinos team management at Birsa College Ground in the district Khunti.

Eight teams from the different villages of district Khunti were divided in two groups. Out of 128 players who participated in this tournament 17 have been identified who can be groomed for future.

Ms. Diya Chauhan, Owner Ranchi Rhinos and Mrs. Rani Tuti, President Nagar Panchayat presented trophy to the winner’s team. Ms. Diya Chauhan also presented one hockey stick to each player of the winner’s team and Ms. Savitri Purti, General Secretary Hockey Jharkhand presented turf shoes to each player of the runners-up team.

Mr. Suresh Kumar, Treasurer Hockey Jharkhand and Mr. SK Mohanty, SAI Coach were also attended the final day of the tournament.

Ms. Diya Chauhan said they will conduct similar tournaments for boys under 14 at district Shimdega and Gumla in September 2013 and it is expected that a total of 20 teams will participate.

Mr. Bunty Singh, CEO Ranchi Rhinos said the purpose of organizing this tournament is to identify promising players who can be trained for future.
