New Delhi, 8 November 2013: The Young Indian side overcame Malaysia 4-3 in their last league match of the 3rd Men’s Asian Champions Trophy played at Kakamigahara, Japan today.

India scored through Ramandeep Singh (4th minute), Malak Singh (41st & 51st minute), Mandeep Singh (54thminute) while Azreen Rizal Bin Nasir (10th minute), Faizal Saari (12th & 67th minute) scored for Malaysia.

India scored an early goal in the 4th minute through Ramandeep Singh. Malaysia leveled the score in the 10th minute with the field goal scored by Azreen Rizal Bin Nasir. Two minutes later Malaysia took 2-1 lead with the goal scored by Faizal Saari. Half time score was 2-1 in favour of Malaysia.

India made a strong comeback in the second half, scoring an easy goal through Malak Singh in the 41stminute. In the 51st minute Malak Singh scored another goal to put India 3-2 ahead of Malaysia. Three minutes later Mandeep Singh scored goal for India beating Malaysian defenders and goalkeeper Kumar Subramaniam.

Malaysia reduced the margin in the 67th minute with the field goal scored by Faizal Saari.

India will now play Oman for the fifth/sixth position match on 10 November 2013.
