Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, 10th January 2017: The seventh day of the Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Women) ‘B’ Division saw seven matches played out. Results of the first six matches of the day are listed below.

Hockey Madhya Bharat beat Citizen Hockey XI 4-1 in the opening game of the day from Pool B. After a goalless first half, Hockey Madhya Bharat took the lead in the 45th minute via an Aditi Sharma PC conversion. Citizen Hockey XI hit back with an equaliser quickly though, Urmila Pandya, scoring in the 49th minute to draw them level. In the final ten minutes of play Hockey Madhya Bharat seized control and scored three goals in quick succession via Isha Agrawal (61′), Aayushi Patel (64′) and Priyanka Yadav (65′) to secure the victory.

The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. registered a 2-1 victory over Telangana Hockey in Pool C. Two first half goals from Payal Sawant (16′, 35′) gave The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. the lead at half time. Telangana Hockey hit back with a goal in the 66th minute via a Kalpana Marri PC conversion, but it was little too late as The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. took the victory.

Hockey Bhopal took on Kerala Hockey in their Pool C encounter. Hockey Bhopal took an early lead via a Soni Ladwal PC conversion in the 18th minute. Kerala Hockey hit back with a shock equaliser in the 31st minute via C T Amaya. Right at the half-time mark though Priyanka Dogra struck for Hockey Bhopal to give them the lead going into the break. In the second half, Shivani Goutam’s hat-trick (41′, 50′, 62′) and goals from Soni Ladwal (52′) and Priyanka Dhakad (70′) guided them to a comfortable victory.

Hockey Him beat Mumbai School Sports Association 5-1 in their Pool D encounter. Ankita Dahiya scored the opener for Hockey Him in the 17th minute. Captain Arti Kashyap’s 21st minute goal gave them a 2 goal cushion at halftime. Ankita Dahiya (69′) and Arti Kashyap (58′) added one more goal each to their tally as Hockey Him took home three points. Mumbai School Sports Association’s goal came via Sakshi Pagar in the 55th minute.

Goans Hockey and Hockey Himachal played out a 1-1 draw in their Pool D game. Neha Thakur opened the scoring for Hockey Himachal scoring in the 5th minute to give them the lead. Right on the stroke of half time though Goans Hockey found an equaliser through a Nikita Sutar PC conversion. Both teams created opportunities in the second half, but were unable to convert as they split the points.

In yesterday’s final game of the day, Hockey Coorg beat Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hockey Association 10-0. B Rischika Thimmaiah (43′, 48′, 56′, 63′) scored four goals in Hockey Coorg’s commanding victory.

Vidarbha Hockey Association forfeited their game against Hockey Puducherry in Pool B.

Assam Hockey take on Hockey Coorg in their Pool A encounter at 1630 hours IST.
