New Delhi, 18 December 2014: With only a few weeks left before the start of the 3rd edition of the Hero Hockey India League, many players have started their preparations to showcase their best performance in the world’s most prestigious hockey league, which will start on 22 January 2015. Apart from the junior hockey players, senior players are also focusing on the league and most of them have already set-up their objectives to be achieved in the Hero HIL 2015.

Sandeep Singh was the top scorer in the first two editions of the Hero HIL. In the inaugural edition of the League, the penalty corner specialist scored 11 goals in 12 matches for Dabur Mumbai Magicians.

In the next edition, Sandeep Singh joined Jaypee Punjab Warriors and played along-side the best players of the world, such as Jamie Dwyer of Australia, Jaap Stockmann of Netherlands and Lucas Rey of Argentina in this edition.

Sandeep also proved to be a goal-scoring machine and finished the season with 11 goals again. He was lauded by the hockey fraternity and all the pundits of the sport for his awe-inspiring game through-out the season.

With the upcoming edition next year, Sandeep Singh has now set-up a new aim for the Hero HIL 2015. For the last two seasons, he scored 11 goals each and is looking to get past the figure and score more goals for Jaypee Punjab Warriors. This season, Sandeep Singh will play along-side international top players such as Christopher Ciriello and Mark Knowles of Australia in the defence-line, and he is expected to showcase his new skills in the penalty corner.

Speaking after a training session, defender Sandeep Singh said: “As you know the  Hero HIL 2015 will start next month, some of the players have already started preparing for it .I am currently working on various skills, sharpening myself in penalty corner and trying some new shots. However, hockey is a team game, where everyone needs to contribute to win a match. Last season, we lost in the finals of the Hero HIL, so this year, my only aim is to score maximum goals and lift the trophy for my team. I am looking forward to the Hero HIL 2015.”

With World’s best players in the Jaypee Punjab Warriors, Sandeep will try to achieve a bigger aim in the upcoming Hero Hockey India League and that is to bring the Hero HIL 2015 trophy home.
