– All 18 Players to each get cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- & each member of the Support Staff Rs. 50,000/-

– Midfielder Harjit Singh to get Rs. 100,000/- for winning Most Promising Player of the Tournament

– Women Goalkeeper Savita to get cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- for winning Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament Award in the  8th Women’s Asia Cup

New Delhi, 29 September 2013: Hockey India today announced cash awards for the Junior Men team that won the Sultan of Johar Cup 2013 at Johar Bahru in Malaysia.

Hockey India will give Rs. 1,00,000 Lakh to each player of the team and Rs. 50,000 to each of the members of the support staff. Additional cash award of Rs. 100,000 will be given to Harjit Singh for winning Most Promising Player of the Tournament Award.

Also, Hockey India will give a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000 to Indian Goalkeeper Savita who won the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament Award at the recently concluded 8th Women’s Asia Cup held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr Narinder Batra, Secretary General Hockey India said “ I congratulate all the players and support staff for making everyone proud by winning this prestigious tournament. This is just the beginning for the Junior Men who are setting their target on winning the FIH Junior Men’s World Cup to be held in New Delhi from 6-15 December 2013”.

The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team and Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team embarked on a Tour of Europe in the early hours of Saturday. During the Tour, the Indian Junior Men’s Team will compete against Belgium, Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push, and Germany while the Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team will take on Belgium, Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push, Germany, and Oranje Rood.
