The Indian Junior Women Hockey Team played a draw at 2-2 with New Zealand in the last match of the six-match test series

New Zealand, 13 November 2014:  In the final match of the six-match test series, played today between the Indian Junior Women Hockey Team and the junior Black Sticks, at the TET Multisports Centre, Stratford, the two teams were seen in a gripping clash where the final score was tied at 2-2.

There was plenty of action right from the beginning as both the teams went off with an attacking approach in the entire match. Both the teams made desperate efforts and gave each other a tough fight to score the opening goal of the match until New Zealand’s Felicity Reidy made the breakthrough for her team and opened the account at 1-0.

India’s Lilima Minz immediately responded to New Zealand’s attack and sliced in a goal to level the score at 1-1. With the Indian eves charging with their attacks one after the other, Navjot Kaur successfully sneaked in another goal for India and took away lead from New Zealand by 2-1.

With two yellow cards and a green card proving to be costly for India, it was New Zealand’s Deanna Ritchie, who managed to level the scores at 2-2 through a penalty corner, concluding the game with a 2-2 score on board.

The six-match test series saw some exciting clashes between the two teams. Playing out three draws out of six matches and with a total of three wins to their credit, New Zealand successfully claimed the series in their favour.
