Etawah, 29 April 2016: The semifinals day of the Hockey India 6^th Senior Men National Championship (A Division) saw games between Railways and Odisha and AIU and Punjab.

In the opening fixture Railways beat Odisha 4-2. They opened the scoring in the 9^thminute via an Amit Rohidas penalty stroke. Odisha though equalised within two minutes with a PC goal from Sanjeep Xess. Almost from the restart Railways won a PC which was converted by Rohidas to give them a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Railways doubled that lead in the second quarter via an Affan Yousuf goal in the 24^th minute and despite an Odisha fight back held on for a victory and a place in the finals.

In the second game Punjab blanked out AIU 5-0. Gurbaj Singh (5’, 15’) and Parvinder Singh (27’, 37’) registered braces in a comfortable victory for Punjab.
