Results from 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women's National Championship B Division

Sikar (Rajasthan), 15 May 2019: On Day 1 of 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship B Division Hockey Patiala, Andhra Hockey Association, Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Himachal registered impressive wins.

Riding on four goals from Taranpreet Kaur and three from Sukhveer Kaur, Hockey Patiala registered a dominating 9-1 win over Chhattisgarh Hockey in the opening encounter of the championship. Taranpreet Kaur scored the first two goals for Hockey Patiala in the 4th and 12th minute. Sonam Sahu scored one in the 35th minute for Chhattisgarh Hockey. But Taranpreet Kaur scored her third in the 38th minute that was closely followed by two from Sukhveer Kaur in the 40th and 44th minute. Sukhveer Kaur scored her third goal of the match in the 56th minute as the match ended 9-1 in favour of her team.

Skipper Bharani S led Andhra Hockey Association from the front scoring two goals in her side’s 4-0 win over Bengal Hockey Association. Bharani S scored the opening goal in the 10th minute and also the last goal of the game in the 44th helping her side close the match in their favour.

In the third match of the day, Hockey Maharashtra got the better of The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. by 6-0. Three goals in four minutes by Prajakta Mane (22’), Samrudhi Zujam (23’) and Manashri Shedge (25’) put Hockey Maharashtra in the driver’s seat. Himanshi Gawande’s brace in the 37th and 42nd minute sealed the deal for the side as they finished regulation time at 6-0.

In the last match of the day, Hockey Himachal beat Goans Hockey 10-0 thanks to four goals from Priya (17’, 48’, 53’, 59’) and two goals each by captain Sonam (6’, 47’) and Radha (41’, 57’). After scoring five in the first three quarters, Himachal Hockey scored as many in just the last quarter to close the match at 10-0
