India thrashes Russia 10-1, enter FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2013 Quarter Finals

New Delhi, 30 July 2013: India thrashed Russia 10-1 to enter the quarter-finals of the FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2013 on Tuesday.

India scored five goals in each half through Vandana Katariya (7th, 15th, 31st minute), Poonam Rani (22nd, 27th minute), Rani (39th, 49th minute), Ritusha Arya (44th minute), Manjit Kaur (69th minute) and own goal (66th minute) while Anastasia Miroshikova scored the only goal for Russia in the 36th minute.

India will now face Pool D champions in the quarter-finals on Thursday. From Pool C, Australia is the second team that qualified for the quarter-finals.
